Biotensegrity Patch Notes - for 4IR

Mango Spine develops systems that help people better adapt to the physical demands of modern life. Its work focuses on improving how the body manages gravity, load, rotation, and movement within contemporary home and work environments.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR)

The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) refers to the current era of highly digital, screen-based work and life. For many people, it is characterized by prolonged sitting, forward-leaning postures, repetitive movement, and reduced movement variability compared with previous generations.

4IR Syndrome

4IR Syndrome describes the increasingly common pattern of musculoskeletal dysfunction associated with prolonged exposure to modern 3IR and 4IR environments. These patterns may include tech neck, kyphosis and hyperkyphosis, scapular winging, frozen shoulder, hip dysfunction, lower back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, reduced balance, and diminished rotational capacity.

Inner | Strength Training™ (IST)

Inner | Strength Training™ is Mango Spine's system of Daily Spinal Hygiene and Daily Neuromuscular Self-care. It applies systems thinking and process improvement to human movement, emphasizing brief, repeatable movements embedded into everyday routines rather than additional exercise sessions.

Daily Spinal Hygiene

Daily Spinal Hygiene is the routine care of the spine and its supporting structures through brief, regular movement practices intended to maintain healthy loading, mobility, alignment, and movement quality throughout daily life.

Daily Neuromuscular Self-care

Daily Neuromuscular Self-care is the routine maintenance of the body's stabilizing and proprioceptive systems through frequent, low-intensity movement integrated into existing daily activities.

Essential Daily Movements (EDMs)

Essential Daily Movements are the foundational movement patterns that comprise Inner | Strength Training. They are designed to be brief, repeatable, and easily embedded into daily routines at home and at work.

Embedded Movement

Embedded Movement is the practice of integrating movement into activities already performed throughout the day rather than scheduling additional exercise sessions.

Stabilizing Systems

Within Mango Spine, stabilizing systems refer to the muscles, connective tissues, proprioceptive systems, and neuromuscular control mechanisms that position joints, distribute force, and coordinate movement under gravity.

STATURE

STATURE is Mango Spine's first integrated application of Inner | Strength Training. It combines movement modules, companion guides, and progressive instruction into a unified system for improving Daily Spinal Hygiene and Daily Neuromuscular Self-care.

Physics-forward

Physics-forward describes Mango Spine's emphasis on force, torque, leverage, angles, load paths, and rotational mechanics as primary considerations in human movement.

Daily Movement Anchors

Daily Movement Anchors are existing routines—such as brushing teeth, showering, standing at a desk, or walking—that serve as consistent opportunities to embed Essential Daily Movements.

Diagnose the Day

Diagnose the Day is Mango Spine's systems approach to identifying environmental and behavioral causes of musculoskeletal dysfunction before focusing on individual symptoms. The emphasis is placed on improving the daily environment and movement patterns that repeatedly shape the body.
